Much love for Bumble & Bumble Creme de Coco

I love this shampoo and conditioner so much. It is great on my thick, wavy, coloured hair which frizzes so easily. The only down side is the price. Its cheapest at www.activebeauty.co.uk who also do free P&P. I'm wondering if I might save in the long run by needing fewer styling products as well as not constantly buying and chucking stuff that doesnt work. One note of warning DO NOT use the conditioner on your roots as I find they look greasy by the 2nd day. This is almost unheard of for my hair!

More coat lust

I actually tried this one on and its gorgeous. Really nice retro shape and the frill is not at all overpowering. Its 80% wool so I'm guessing it would be cosy. Not sure how I resisted really. Apart from the fact that I have a few expenses coming up as I'm getting married in less than 3 weeks - eek!
Its 85 quid from Topshop

Bargain gloves

Apologies for the lack of posting which has been due to computer woes which *crosses fingers* are now resolved - yay for being back on line!

following on from my Matalan gloves post I ended up buying a very nice pair of black leather gloves for 7 quid in Primark. We will see how they hold up but in terms of the leather quality they are comparable with the purple M&S pair.

Purple Coat

I have a hankering for a purple coat and am intrigued by the unusual flared shape and hood on this one from La Redoute.

One potential problem is that it is from a plus size line and while the sizing starts at my usual coat size (UK 14/US10) I wonder how the fit will be.  The second problem is that its potentially over priced (£159) for a High St coat of indeterminate wool content.  I'm thinking it will end up in the sale.  What do you think?

Matalan leather gloves

Has anyone seen these irl?  The price (£8) for classic looking black leather gloves seems too good to be true.  Are they horrible?

This is why I will never apologise for caring about clothes

Vain trifles as they seem, clothes have, as they say, more important offices than merely to keep us warm. They change our views of the world and the world's view of us.

Ready for the cold

Marks and Spencer have me well prepared for the chilly weather with this beautiful grey cashmere hat (£18) and purple leather gloves (£15) that will be a fantastic pop of colour against grey and black winter coats.  Now if I could only remember to take the coats to the dry cleaners.  To my shame they have been bundled up ready to go since the end of last winter!

Dont you just love Birthday money?

The detail doesnt show up too well in this pic because of Next's use of flash on their web site (very annoying!) but I grabbed this in a short shopping opportunity between trains today.  No shopping guilt as I used birthday money!

Is Boden changing or am I?

I will take one each of all of the above please!  I have bought from Boden before but rarely to be honest.  The quality is fabulous but the prices are not cheap and I've always found the styling a weird mix of childish (applique skirts) and Mumsy (boxy jumpers).  So is Boden becoming more chic or am I just getting old?

My latest shoe love

I recently bought these shoe boots from Jones and I love love love them. My legs are not my best feature and when I spied these were close fitting and cut low enough to flatter I had to have them.  They have a hidden platform and are made of the softest leather imaginable.  The smell is heavenly.  I sized up for these and according to the sales girl most people are finding they fit small.  I plan to wear them this weekend with a black dress and some coloured tights.

Luchtime mini spree

I manage to make it to the shopping centre on the outskirts of the city in 10 mins from my office, quite tempting! I picked up a few things today.

First up these travel brushes (£14.15)from the Body Shop. I'm a huge fan of their brushes as they are comparable in quality to brands like MAC but are half the price. I've been meaning to pick up the travel set for a while. This is actually dinky enough to fit in a handbag. The cheek brush seems very small to me so I need to experiment a bit with it and report back.

Next I grabbed this handcream as I go through loads and particularly like a flip top tube, probably due to being clumsy. This smells gorgeous and absorbs quickly which is a must for me. A further bonus is that £3.45 from the £5 purchase price is donated to the Body Shop campaign partner ECPAT, who are actively working to stop the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children and young people in the UK and around the world.

I did a bit of a hosiery shop which was much needed now the weather here is a bit chilly. I bought 2 pairs of 80 denier opaques in Dorothy Perkins (2 for £8). I got the pretty bright jade and deep purple colours. I impusively bought some Celia Birtwell tights and knee highs in Boots. I cant find these on line but recommend checking them out in store - v pretty!

Finally I got a long chunky silver chain necklace in New Look for £7. I plan to wear it over a cobalt blue top. Hope it doesnt turn green like my last New Look necklace!

Well Hello there blog world!

I've been a long time fan of several blogs out there and am wondering if it might be fun to explore my more creative side through some ramblings and rantings in the blog world. I suspect this will be a slightly shambolic collection of my thoughts on shoes, fashion, beauty, films and anything else thats on my mind. I also cant promise that I wont be posting under the influence of at least one cheeky glass of vin rouge!
